Course Description
Course Description:
Networking standards define how communication occurs during transmission and between devices. When you want devices to communicate with each other, you need to be able to connect them, and there's a variety of ways to do that. In this course, you’ll explore the fundamentals of networking standards, beginning with the organizations that create and maintain them and the process surrounding networking standards creation. Then you'll explore the OSI model and its various layers and discover the backbone of computer networking, the TCP/IP model. You'll discover the various networking media types, cables, standards, and categories. Then you'll explore half and full duplex communication and structured cabling systems and how to design and install them. You'll also learn how to properly examine and test cabling. Finally, you'll delve into fiber optic cabling and wireless network connections. This course was originally created by Global Knowledge (GK).
